- Offertory Counters | Holy Spirit Catholic Church
< Back Offertory Counters Support parish stewardship by helping count and verify offertory collections each week. The Offertory Counters ministry plays an important behind-the-scenes role in supporting the mission and ministries of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Volunteers work together to count, record, and verify the offertory collections received at weekend Masses, helping to ensure the accurate stewardship of the gifts entrusted to the parish. This ministry is ideal for parishioners who are organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with numbers. Counters serve as part of a team and follow established procedures to maintain accuracy, accountability, and confidentiality throughout the counting process. The group meets on Monday mornings to process the weekend collections. While much of this work takes place quietly behind the scenes, it is an essential ministry that supports every aspect of parish life and helps ensure that the resources entrusted to the parish are managed responsibly. If you enjoy working with numbers and would like to contribute your time and talents in a meaningful way, we invite you to consider joining this ministry. - Arimatheans and Gardening | Holy Spirit Catholic Church
< Back Arimatheans and Gardening Serve through hands-on care of cemetery grounds, gardens, and outdoor devotional spaces. The Arimathean Ministry began in 2020 and is named in memory of Joseph of Arimathea, who lovingly offered his gardens for the body of the crucified Christ. It is a hands-on group of men and women who take care of horticulture, statuary and associated structures in the Holy Spirit Cemetery, Columbarium, Chapel Walk, Stations of the Cross, Garden of the Unborn, Parish Life Center, Founders Place and Main Church gardens and plaza. In this work, we witness to our Catholic faith's commitment to life from birth to natural death and create beautiful, prayerful space that honors our departed parishioners and also welcomes those who seek quiet, meditative areas for personal or group prayer and reflection. Holy Spirit is one of only a few Catholic Churches in the diocese that have burial space adjacent to the church and we are blessed to have acres of maritime forest which we can protect and enhance for the glory of God! We are a motley crew of experienced and inexperienced gardeners, hedge-pruners, tree-trimmers, statue-washers, moss-pullers, grass-growers, fountain-restorers, landscape planners, carpenters, painters, mulch-spreaders, trouble-shooters, problem-fixers, shed-builders and cleaner-uppers. We have a good time working together from 9-11 am on Monday mornings from March 1 to mid-December, and when we decorate the church grounds for Christmas. We welcome new members at any point during the calendar year. - Paraclete Foundation | Holy Spirit Catholic Church
< Back Paraclete Foundation Help vulnerable homeowners remain safely in their homes through critical repairs and support. For many years Holy Spirit Parish has collaborated with other local churches and agencies to help our neighbors on Johns and Wadmalaw Islands during a crisis. When brought to the attention of our pastor, funds and laborers would be found to assist the people during these times of need. Whether it was a leaking roof, a broken down appliance, helping set up a family who had recently come to the area and was living in their car, or someone struggling to stay in their home after a hurricane ravaged the area, help was provided. In 2018, it was decided to formalize this outreach and the Paraclete Foundation was founded. The mission of the Paraclete Foundation is to assist the poor and working poor within the boundaries of Holy Spirit Parish to obtain extraordinary repairs and upgrades necessary to allow them to remain in their homes. In 2026, The Paraclete Foundation celebrated $1,000,000 in repair projects within the parish. Donated funds are tax deductible and checks may be written to Holy Spirit Catholic Church with a note in the memo field “Paraclete Foundation.” MINISTRY CONTACT: office@holyspiritsc.org Previous Next THANK YOU Photo Gallery All Ministries Outreach Fellowship & Hospitality Liturgical
- Social Sunday | Holy Spirit Catholic Church
< Back Social Sunday Build parish community through hospitality, coffee, and welcoming fellowship after Mass. The Social Sunday ministry is all about hospitality, connection, and community. After Mass, we create a welcoming space out front where parishioners can gather, greet one another, and continue the joy of worship through simple fellowship over coffee and donuts. This ministry is rooted in the gift of hospitality—offering a warm, friendly environment where people feel at home and conversations can begin, deepen, and grow. A simple cup of coffee or snack can become an opportunity for someone to feel seen, known, and welcomed in the parish community. We are currently looking for additional volunteers to help prepare, serve, and host our Social Sundays. Whether you enjoy setting up, greeting guests, or simply lending a hand where needed, there is a place for you in this ministry. And yes—if you like donuts and coffee, you’ll fit right in. Come help us bring hospitality to the next level and make Social Sundays a true extension of the joy of the Eucharist.
