Ministry of Consolation

Offer hospitality and comfort to grieving families through compassionate funeral reception ministry.

The Ministry of Consolation serves families during one of life's most difficult moments by offering hospitality, compassion, and support following the Funeral Liturgy of a parishioner.

Members of this ministry prepare and serve luncheon receptions for family and friends following funeral services, providing a welcoming space where loved ones can gather, share memories, and find comfort in the presence of the parish community. These receptions, held in the Family Life Center, accommodate up to 50 guests and are coordinated by two rotating teams. Because responsibilities are shared, team members are typically called upon to serve only a few times each year.

The ministry also assists with the annual Mass of Remembrance, celebrated on All Souls Day (November 2) for parishioners who have died during the previous year and for all the faithful departed. Following the Mass in the parish cemetery near the Columbarium, ministry members provide a light luncheon for attendees.

This ministry is a meaningful opportunity to serve others with Christ's love.
